Baker Level 3 Pathway

The Baker Level 3 pathway is for those advanced baking roles - either with technical complexity or with some supervisory level responsibilities - in processing and manufacturing confectionery and cake production, or sales/service support in a bakery.

The Steering Group responsible for leading on the review of this Apprenticeship has recommended a brand new apprenticeship qualification specification be developed to deliver the technical requirements for Baker occupations at Level 3.

In summary, the specification will require participants to achieve qualification units that deliver at least 12 of the current National Occupational Standards or underpinning knowledge units as follows:

  • 2 from Optional Group A
  • 4 from the Baker Sector Group B
  • 3 underpinning knowledge units from Group D
  • The remaining units can be taken from Optional Groups A, B, C or D

The following questions and pages will take you through these and other requirements in more detail.

Optional Group A

Title
Monitor food safety at critical control points in food and drink operations
