Meat and Poultry Level 3 Pathway

The Meat and Poultry Level 3 pathway is for those working in advanced meat and poultry roles - either with technical complexity or with some supervisory level responsibilities - in processing and manufacturing, or sales/service support in a meat and poultry organisation.

The Steering Group responsible for leading on the review of this Apprenticeship has recommended a brand new apprenticeship qualification specification be developed to deliver the technical requirements for Meat and Poultry occupations at Level 3.

In summary, the specification will require participants to achieve qualification units that deliver at least 15 of the current National Occupational Standards or underpinning knowledge units as follows:

  • 3 from Mandatory Group A
  • At least 4 from the Meat & Poultry Industry Group B
  • At least 4 underpinning knowledge units from Group D
  • The remaining units can be taken from Optional Groups B, C or D

The following questions and pages will take you through these and other requirements in more detail.
