Optional Outcomes

Optional outcomes provide the opportunity for employers to provide additional learning where appropriate, depending on the job role.

Additional learning may include units from a relevant SVQ in Food and Drink Operations at SCQF L5 or above; relevant short courses; and relevant professional qualifications. Examples of optional outcomes may be taken from the Enhancements section, or may be industry or organisation-specific.

Examples of areas that optional outcomes may cover:

  • Relevant Health and Safety

  • Working with others

  • Team building

  • Basic management skills

  • Communication

  • Report writing, eg., health and safety risk assessment for specific machinery or equipment learners are using

  • Information and communication technology

  • Large-scale processing outcomes

  • Improvement techniques
