You must be able to do:
research and select suppliers who are able to meet the creative, budgetary and logistical requirements
confirm requirements and specific necessities with suppliers
assess performers physical needs or artistic preferences and provide these where possible
Identify and plan the acquisition of costume staff
liaise with and manage people involved in the acquisition process
consider the creative and technical requirements related to the making-up of the costume design
select suppliers that have the specialist and technical skills needed to fulfil the design concept within budget and production deadlines
negotiate and agree the terms and conditions with the suppliers
conduct relationships with suppliers in a way that promotes the best results
select suitable quality, quantity and type of resource
check and confirm availability of the required resources
agree delivery dates that meet the production schedule
analyse and resolve problems related to availability, quantity or quality
keep records of orders and overall expenditure
monitor compliance with the agreed budget regularly
identify potential budget increases, report them to the relevant person(s) and recommend suitable solution
communicate with the production team and all relevant department/individuals
follow health and safety legislation and guidelines at all times
