Performance criteria
You must be able to do:
work in collaboration with the costume designer / supervisor or production team to identify the costumes required
identify technology to be used within the production that may impact on costumes
plan and confirm budgets and timescales in relation to costume requirements
select and assemble costumes and accessories suitable to fulfill the order requirements
confirm that costumes and accessories assembled meet the order requirements
identify and record required repairs, improvements or alterations
identify requirements in relation to multiples of the same costumes
confirm costs related to costume hire, including damage / repair costs, fines
assess and record the condition of costumes and accessories before they are booked out
ensure booking in/out terms and conditions are agreed and adhered to
Record, label and pack costumes for book out/dispatch
receive returned items and assess returns against records
correctly position and apply Kimble tagging securely where required
identify unreturned items and take agreed action examine returned costumes for damage and take agreed action identify and record required costume maintenance i.e repair, cleaning
mark up’ costumes and submit them for repair with the relevant details
identify, categorise and organise items to be cleaned
ensure that returned, repaired and cleaned costumes are in a suitable condition for storage
store returned costumes in the allocated area
clear, concise communication with staff and clients
follow health and safety riles and regulations at all times

design brief sand production requirements

timescales and timetables in relation to costume requirements
the impact of technology used within film and TV production on costumes
how to assemble costumes for an order

information required on labels and secure packing procedures
cost awareness, including damage / repair costs, fines
the communication protocol with cliental, production staff and collegues
statutory responsibilities under health, safety and environmental legislation and regulations
