Overview

This standard is about your ability to undertake various cutting, colouring, setting and dressing methods to create a different appearance to performers’ hair for productions.

It involves making sure that performers are comfortable and fully informed about the process. It is about recognising the properties of different hair types and textures including hair curl pattern types and understanding and selecting the appropriate tools, products and methods needed to cut, temporarily colour, set and dress the hair. It is also about ensuring that the hairstyle is sustained under production conditions.

It involves taking in to account the health and safety requirements when cutting, temporarily colouring, setting and dressing hair.

This standard is for those who have completed initial training and have hairdressing skills and experience.

This standard is applicable to all roles, but most applicable to the role of the Hair assistant.
