This standard covers the skills and knowledge needed for you to carry out beer production in brewing.

This standard details the skills needed in the production of beer. It covers identifying types, flavours and characteristics of different beers and monitoring and controlling the production process. 

It also covers understanding the principles of beer production in brewing. It covers the regulatory impact on brewing, the definition and types of beer, functions within production processing.

Performance criteria

You must be able to:

 

1.         carry out beer production in accordance with the legal or regulatory requirements, the organisational health and safety, hygiene and environmental standards and instructions
