SKSCSS7 Finalise and circulate continuity and production reports

Overview 

This Standard is about finalising and circulating continuity and production reports and other information.  This could apply to any type of scripted production including feature films and TV dramas.

This includes marking up editors scripts, recording information about wild tracks, retyping scripts when dialogue changes, preparing editors daily log sheets,  compiling continuity reports, compiling production reports and circulating all prepared information.

This standard is relevant to script supervisors. 

 

Performance Criteria

You must be able to:

  1. indicate coverage on editor’s scripts using relevant slate and shot information
  2. maintain records of wild tracks when they occur in scripts
  3. provide editors and other relevant people with lists of wild tracks
  4. retype scripts to reflect any major dialogue changes
  5. prepare continuity reports with relevant information about each slate, shot and take on a daily basis
  6. file copies of each day’s paperwork and matching stills in logical order
  7. prepare editor’s daily log sheets in line with production requirements
  8. deliver required daily paperwork to appropriate people in production for distribution to editors
  9. prepare production reports with relevant information about progress, timings and any problems on a daily basis
  10. provide and update production office with lists of any outstanding shots or inserts for circulation to relevant departments
  11. pass relevant information to 2nd units at appropriate times

 

Knowledge and Understanding

You need to know and understand: 

  1. how to mark up editor’s scripts, and what information to include
  2. when and why wild tracks are required
  3. when it Is necessary to retype scripts to reflect dialogue changes relevant information about each slate to include in continuity reports including details date, time shot, weather and scene numbers
  4. relevant information about each shot to include in continuity reports including shot descriptions and records of all action and dialogue covered,
  5. relevant information about each take to include in continuity reports including timings, any comments, selected takes, and any other relevant details
  6. where and how to file documentation during shoots
  7. types of information to include in editors’ daily log sheets
  8. what to include in production reports about progress including numbers of set-ups, scenes and part scenes shot, scheduled scenes on call sheet that were not shot, scenes completed, scenes part completed, page count covered
  9. what to include in production reports timings including screen-time for the day, running totals to date, over and under estimated timing, call times, turn over, lunch and wrap times
  10. what to include in production reports any problems including any delays or accidents
  11. what information to pass to 2nd units including shot lists and information about shot matching
  12. the requirements of the relevant health and safety legislation and procedures
