This Standard is about reviewing shots and analysing them for any faults against technical and aesthetic requirements. This can apply to digital or film cameras. This could apply to any type of production including feature films, TV dramas, commercials, documentaries, sports coverage, outside broadcast and live or stage events.
This includes reviewing shots, analysing shots against production requirements, identifying technical faults, identifying aspects which do not meet aesthetic requirements, agreeing solutions, rectifying shots and referring those you cannot resolve.

Performance Criteria
You must be able to:
review shots at appropriate times
analyse shots against aesthetic and technical requirements of productions
identify technical faults which occur during or after shooting
identify aspects of shots which do not meet aesthetic requirements
discuss and agree viable solutions with appropriate people
inform relevant people about agreed actions that may affect them
resolve or report faults without delay
resolve faults that are within your area of responsibility and expertise
refer issues that you cannot resolve to appropriate people

how to assess zoom collimation and back focus
how circles of confusion affect image sharpness
how macro lenses perform
how to identify technical issues and their causes
commonly occurring flickering light sources
when and how light source frequencies affect shutter angle windows for flicker-free shooting
how to rectify common problems including changing settings, re-shooting
current methods of dealing with visual continuity and post production techniques
with whom to discuss and agree potential solutions
