Overview

This standard is about the principles of using Information Communication Technology (ICT) and Management Information Systems (MIS) in food technology. It is about understanding ICT and MIS systems and their application in support of the management of production performance. It involves being able to effectively use and manage ICT and MIS systems in support of production processes.

This standard applies to you if you are a manager or consultant who has responsibility for maintaining and assessing the performance of processing operations within a food or drink business. It is expected that you will control and support others in respect to the workplace application of ICT and MIS systems.

3 the processes, facilities and equipment that are required to provide ICT and

6 how to use ICT and MIS systems to process, evaluate and present data

7 the potential shortfalls of ICT and MIS systems

8 how to maintain the security, integrity and accuracy of ICT and MIS systems

9 how to evaluate the effectiveness of ICT and MIS systems

10 how to support others to ensure the effective use of ICT and MIS systems

11 how to engage with colleagues through a range of listening and communication techniques

12 how ICT and MIS systems influence and are influenced by quality assurance systems

13 how to plan, monitor and control the application and performance of ICT and MIS systems
