IMPMC101 – Intake raw material for milling

Overview

This standard is about the skills and knowledge needed for you to intake raw material for milling.

You will need the skills and knowledge to carry out initial checks and cleaning of the material as well as transport the material to holding bins and perform a final damping and cleaning. These steps are necessary for making sure that the material is free from contamination and ready for further processing.

You will need to understand the principles of the wheat plant, wheat grain structure and content, the basic varieties of wheat, production issues and the storage of grain.

You will also need to understand how to prepare to receive and unload goods and materials to maintain production flow.

This standard is for you if you work in food and drink manufacture and/or supply operations and are involved in the operative tasks associated with raw material intake, in preparation for storage and milling.
