Overview 

This standard is about liaising with departments to ensure resources are provided to enable the intimate actions to take place in line with the agreed production requirements and schedules.

This can involve requesting or sourcing items from departments including costume, hair, make-up and prosthetics, props and set dressing.

It is also about checking they meet the requirements specified in the rider and the performers are comfortable with using them.

This standard is for intimacy coordinators.

 

Performance Criteria 

You must be able to: 

  1. assess information from the production brief relating to intimacy which could impact on scheduling, budgeting, and design
  2. identify and agree where the resources will be obtained from with department leads
  3. source and provide specialist equipment as required
  4. confirm with departments that resources are prepared and ready for use on set
  5. advise performers on how to use resources during intimate actions
  6. check the performers are comfortable using the resources available
  7. suggest and agree viable alternatives with the production team when intimacy actions change
  8. agree disposal protocols for used items in line with health & safety legislation, sustainability requirements and organisational procedures

 

Knowledge and Understanding 

You need to know and understand:

 

  1. how to identify intimacy factors including: heating, cooling, environment, lighting, physical contact and personal space
  2. the importance of consent and recorded agreements the implications of intimacy for colleagues in the creative team and crew
  3. methods of obtaining and deploying resources on set
  4. how to advise performers on the use of resources for intimate actions
  5. the requirements of different types of intimacy resources such as barriers, genitalia covers, costume, hair, make up and prosthetics, props, lighting or specialist equipment
  6. hygienic and sustainable storage and disposal of items
  7. the importance of complying with legislation, regulations and production policies
  8. the importance of checking comfort factors with performers during filming
