Overview

This standard is about reaching agreement and shared understanding of the brief and the creative vision of a production and the required levels of intimacy. Risks will need to be identified and an action plan put in place for the intimacy requirements to be met.

You will need to liaise with Heads of Department, and any other relevant organisations in order to ensure that the requirements comply with legislation and protocols.

This standard is for intimacy coordinators.

 

Performance Criteria

You must be able to:

  1. interpret and breakdown a brief to identify intimacy requirements
  2. liaise with creatives and heads of department about the requirements of the brief and creative vision
  3. assess the breakdown for risks and scope the intimacy requirements
  4. identify resources and professional support that may be required
  5. suggest amendments or alternatives if the original concept is unworkable
  6. collaborate with heads of department to check the technical feasibility of the brief
  7. confirm with production that the intimacy requirements can be addressed
  8. comply with legal, statutory and organisational requirements

 

Knowledge and Understanding 

You need to know and understand:

  1. how to obtain the production brief and interpret the intimacy requirements
  2. how the production process works and how elements within this are achieved
  3. different types of intimacy and how to assess and rate these
  4. creative vision requirements and how to meet these, within the available budget and production schedule
  5. the potential resources and professional support that may be required
  6. the production schedule
  7. how to create an intimacy action plan/tracker
  8. the role of other departments, in particular Costume, Hair & Make-up, Props, Camera, Stunts, Physical and Visual Special Effects and how to work in collaboration with these
  9. who to report potential problems or difficulties to for the production
  10. how to identify and mitigate risk and hazards in the working environment
  11. the legislation, statutory, policies and requirements applicable to intimacy and for the production
