Overview 

This standard is about co-ordinating production paperwork for radio or audio. It involves producing relevant paperwork to support and complete a radio and audio production. This may include schedules, scripts, technical requisitions, cast and crew lists, call sheets, consent and release forms, contracts, copyright clearances, and other compliance paperwork.

This standard applies to all those who coordinate production paperwork for radio or audio.

 

Performance Criteria 

You must be able to: 

  1. obtain the information required for supporting paperwork from relevant sources
  2. maintain records of all key radio and audio production information required
  3. confirm that the information you have collected is accurate and up-to-date
  4. check that any calculations in the information are correct
  5. produce clear and accurate paperwork which contains information in the required format
  6. circulate the paperwork to all those who require it without delay, informing them about any changes from earlier versions
  7. communicate the requirements of the radio or audio production plan, schedule and scripts to production team members in time for them to take appropriate action
  8. compare progress against plans and schedules on a regular basis
  9. co-ordinate information for call sheets if required
  10. maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information in line with organisational requirements

 

Knowledge and understanding 

You need to know and understand: 

 

  1. the radio and audio production requirements, including schedules, contracts, licenses, consent and release forms
  2. sources of relevant information on production progress and delivery
  3. who needs the information contained in supporting paperwork
  4. the different types of support paperwork which are required at different stages of a production such as production and editing schedules, contracts, copyright clearances and recording and compliance forms.
  5. standard formats for presenting information
  6. the deadlines and procedures for circulating or submitting paperwork
  7. who needs the information about the radio and audio production plan and schedule, post-production and delivery and when they need it
  8. the information required on a call sheet
  9. how the Data Protection Act regulates the collection, use and recording of personal data
  10. types of confidential information including contracts and contact details for actors’, musicians’, presenters’ or contributors’
  11. your responsibilities in terms of production record keeping
  12. the importance of attention to detail and good organisation and communication skills
