Overview 

This standard is about evaluating the success of radio and audio productions contributing to production reviews and offering and receiving constructive feedback.

It involves being clear about the criteria for success on which the radio or audio production is being judged, and learning from the review process.

This standard applies to all those who evaluate the success of radio or audio productions.

 

Performance Criteria 

You must be able to: 

  1. evaluate radio or audio productions against agreed criteria
  2. check that the reasons for your evaluations are clear and justifiable
  3. use quantitative and qualitative data to assist in the review process
  4. encourage frank and open reviews of radio or audio productions and contribute to them
  5. provide feedback to others about their contribution
  6. establish and participate in review processes for radio or audio productions,  providing information that can be used for future improvement
  7. produce an evaluation report including recommendations for improvement 

 

Knowledge and understanding 

You need to know and understand: 

  1. the audience or production  requirements against which any radio or audio is to be assessed
  2. how to develop criteria for judging the success of radio or audio productions
  3. methods of providing feedback and how to offer feedback
  4. how to identify relevant quantitative data on audiences, marketing and sales
  5. sources of qualitative feedback from audiences, advertisers or other key stakeholders relevant to the radio or audio production
  6. how to capture and disseminate knowledge gained from radio or audio production reviews
  7. the legislation, regulation, current broadcast standards and industry codes of practice
  8. how to apply lessons learnt to future productions
